Update from Manang
Owen refers to as 3 American days a day (American because they have
small pints and small gallons). Yesterday was 42 kms, 1900m of climb
and 500m of descent. We have an easy day today, 20kms, 1000m up, so
there is time for Gompa stomping and this blog.
Everyone is doing remarkably well although a couple of people have had
a stomach bug (which makes their efforts remarkable). Len may have
cracked a couple of ribs but is keeping up well and is in good
spirits.
The weather is very good and we don't expect much snow on the pass.
Views are absolutely stunning as we can see most of the Annapurnas in
their snow covered glory towering directly above us.
Our days begin with Nim (one of our guides) heading off at 5:45am to
hunt out a good hotel for the end of the day. We breakfast at 6 with
the aim of hitting the trail by 6:30. The first finishers are
normally at the hotel by 3:30 with the rest arriving before dark at 6
pm.
Cheers
Ross

I hope that you remeber the words spoken by Trish when we parted the other day "We will be thinking of you", as I can personally say that when we first got into the hotel she fliped that the beds in our room where bigger that hers!
