The gang of four at large in Kathmandu - Part 2
Sunday October 26th
Reluctantly taking some time out from the shopping, Trish and Rachel accompanied Allan on a short walk to Durbar Square, where they somehow managed to avoid the admission Police and where only asked for a ticket when trying to re-enter the square on an urgent mission to find a public toilet. The consensus was that Durbar Square wasn't worth the admission price but access to the public toilet was!
An alternate and agreeable stratagy had us taking morning tea in a bakery outside the square, which not only had an accessible toilet but alsosome very nice food. Unable to return to the hotel via route we followed we proceeded to be further cartographically challenged by the maze of small streets and alleys, only to be saved by Rachel's excellent sense of direction and and a good map in her copy of lonley planet (not nessesarily in that order).
Once back at the hotel Rachel and Trish eventually summoned enough energy to walk aound the corner for a massage, though the boys declined.
Another bout of shopping before an excellent meal at Rum Doodles (40,000 1/2 foot cafe and bar), the girls report that they are now "Shopped out" for Kathmandu and will be awaiting arrival at Bangkok tomorrow with hopes of new found strength, both for the planed bicycle trek and I suspect more shopping.
