Bangkok Sunday Morning
The Bangkok Post has an interesting story about a shoot out - between ambulance teams. It appears that highway rescue crews get paid large back-handers from private hospitals for delivering the injured. The result is turf wars that are a step more deadly than American Lawyers chasing ambulances. It’s not clear if the injured were treated by for free by the private hospitals they support.
Interestingly this was not front page news - that was reserved for a slug-fest between a reporter and a Bangkok mayoral candidate. Much more like the Dom Post. In the international section of the paper is a story on a new recipe book “The testicle cookbook: Cooking with Balls”. Apparently downloadable on the net.
As for our trip - eleven and half hours on a plane seldom produces many memorable minutes. Political opinions in the group seem to cover the full gambit and we could have some lively debate. Bangkok is hot and sticky after NZ, everyone is well and breakfast awaits.
